File size limit for email attachments

Definitions

The file size limit for email attachments is the maximum size of files you can send in an email. This limit is standardized across email providers and is in place to make sure your email delivery is smooth and reaches your recipients.

Before you start

✅ The file size limit for email attachments applies across all platforms you check and access your email; including webmail and email applications on your device.

❗Keep the number of attached files reasonable, and make sure their combined size does not exceed the file size limit.

ℹ️ If you need to send an attachment or multiple attachments that go beyond the file size limit, generate and include share links within your email via Google Drive or similar file-sharing services.

File size limit

All emails have a 25 MB file size limit for attachments, meaning the total size of all attached files cannot exceed 25 MB. If your email attachments exceed 25 MB, generate file share links for your recipients to access and view the files.
