Find the IP address of your internet network
Definitions
The IP address of your internet network is a unique number that identifies your connection to the internet.
Currently, there are two types of IP addresses: IPv4 and IPv6.
- IPv4 uses a 32-bit address format to identify devices on a network.
- IPv6 uses a 128-bit address format, offering a much larger number of unique addresses.
All internet networks have IPv4, but not all have IPv6 because it’s newer. Generally, you will focus more on your IPv4 address.
