The wp-config.php file is your WordPress configuration file, containing important settings like database connection details, authentication keys and key settings snippets.
Before you start
✅ All WordPress websites have a wp-config.php file.
⚠️ You’ll rarely need to access your wp-config.php file unless editing database details or snippet settings.
🚨Ideally, only advanced users or website developers should make edits to a wp-config.php file.
Step by step
1. Log in to your hosting control panel
2. Click on the File Manager button
3. Double click on the domains folder
4. Find your website folder and double click on it
5. Look for the public_html folder and double click on it
6. Find the wp-config.php file
7. Right click on the wp-config.php file, select Edit from the dropdown
8. Find the section you want to view and/or edit. If required, apply your edits.
9. If you’ve made edits, make sure to click the Save File button and then X to save your changes and close the session
