Definitions

Multi-factor authentication (2FA) is a security process that requires an authentication code to verify your identity when logging in to your user dashboard. It has several names, including:

  • Two Factor Authentication (2FA)
  • Two Step Authentication
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Multi-Factor Auth

Before you start

✅ You can activate 2FA via your email (Email MFA) or the Google Authenticator app on your mobile phone, both methods will be shown in this guide.

⚠️ You can only activate one 2FA method, either the Email MFA or Google Authenticator, not both.

🚨If you use the Google Authenticator, your code is tied to your device. When you get a new device, you must set up a new code on it using your old device to avoid being locked out of your user dashboard.

ℹ️ Activating 2FA is highly recommended for improved account security.

Step by step

Email MFA

Use the steps below to activate multi-factor authentication via email.

1. Log in to your user dashboard

2. Click on Security

3. Under Email MFA, click the Activate buttton

4. Click on the Send one-time code via Email button. The one-time code will go to the email address associated to your user dashboard.

5. Go to your email address inbox, and grab the 6-digit one-time code. Please note the one-time code expires in 10 minutes.

6. Put your code into the One-time code field

7. Click the Submit button

8. If everything was done correctly, you will get a confirmation message

9. Going forward, when you log into your user dashboard, you will get prompted for a one-time code. Check your email for your one-time code to authenticate your sign in session.

Use the steps below to activate multi-factor authentication via the Google Authenticator app. You can also use these steps as a general guide to activate 2FA on any password app that supports QR codes.

1. On your mobile phone, download the Google Authenticator app from your App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android)

2. Open the Google Authenticator app, click Get Started and then either link it up with your existing Google account or select Use Authenticator without an account

3. Leave the Google Authenticator app open on your device

4. Go to your computer, and log in to your user dashboard

5. Click on Security

6. Under Google Authenticator, click the Activate buttton

7. The next page will display your unique QR code. Go to your mobile phone with the Google Authenticator app open and click the Add a code button.

10. Click the Continue button
