Connect your domain name to Squarespace
Definitions
Connecting your domain name to Squarespace means linking your website to Squarespace so visitors can find your Squarespace website using your domain name.
Before you start
✅ You must have an active Squarespace subscription before completing the steps in this guide.
⚠️ This guide is for you if you use our nameservers and your domain is connected to our hosting control panel, making us your DNS provider.
🚨If you use an external DNS or CDN provider (like Cloudflare), this guide doesn’t apply to you. Manage your DNS on your provider’s user dashboard instead.
ℹ️ Updates to DNS records may take up to 24 hours to propagate across the internet.
Step by step
1. Go to the Squarespace website and log in to your account
⚠️ Note: Section names and locations may vary. If you are unsure, check the Squarespace official help documentation or support channels.
2. Click Use a Domain I Own
3. Enter your domain name in the Enter Domain field, then click the arrow
4. Click Connect Domain
5. Select Other
6. Click Connect Domain
7. In the message that appears, click Continue
8. After clicking Connect, the DNS Settings panel will show the records you need for connecting your domain to Squarespace. Keep the Squarespace panel open and start a new browser window or tab.
9. In your new web browser window, log in to your hosting control panel with us
10. From the top right, click the down arrow ∨ and choose the domain you want to connect to Squarespace

- Leave the TTL as default (no change required)
- Value: verify.squarespace.com.
⚠️ Note: We can’t show a complete visual example of this CNAME because it’s unique to your Squarespace record. However, you’ll see an example of a filled-out CNAME record in the next steps.
13. Back on your main DNS page, find the A record for the www entry. Tick the box to its left, click Delete, and confirm its deletion.

17. On the Edit Record popup. Go to the Value field, delete your existing IP address, and put in the Squarespace IP address:
