Transferring your user account ownership gives someone else full control of your account and services.

Before you start

There are three parts to an ownership transfer that MUST be completed in this exact order by the correct user:

‼️ IMPORTANT These definitions are crucial to complete a successful account ownership transfer:

Current Account Owner

  • Definition: The current owner of the account who wants to transfer ownership to someone else.
  • Also called: Person who is leaving, old owner.

New Account Owner

  • Definition: The new owner of the account will take ownership of the account and services.
  • Also called: Person who is taking over, new owner.

Step by step

1. Open this guide: Invite a new user to your hosting account and send a FULL PRIVLEGES invitation to the New Account Owner

2. Provide the New Account Owner a link to this help guide, and tell them to complete ❗Register section right below

1. Check your email for an invitation request and click the Review In User Dashboard to start your registration process. Here is an example of the email you have received:

2. Register and sign in to your new user account

3. Open this guide: Edit your account profile details

4. Change all of the account profile details to your own details

5. Open this guide: Manage your payment method, go to the Add a new credit card section and complete all the steps

6. Tell Current Account Owner you’ve completed all of the steps and to complete the βœ… Confirm section right below

1. Log in to your user dashboard

2. Submit a support ticket, and in the message body, confirm the following information:

  • The full name of the new account owner:
  • The email address of the new account owner:
  • Written authorization the new account owner be given full ownership of the account and services. You can copy and paste this sentence in directly:

I authorize the new account owner indicated above to take full ownership of my account and services.

  • Confirm if any domain name contact information for domain name registrations held on the account should be updated to the new account owner’s information
  • Confirm if you’d like to remain as an authorized user on the account or be removed completely

3. Once our team receives your account ownership transfer request, it will be processed within 1 business day. We will then follow up to confirm completion and/or to outline any additional steps required.
